CyberLeek Returns With 25-Minute GTA 6 Leak, Threatens Full Build Release
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. Six weeks before that date, the anonymous group calling itself CyberLeek has resurfaced with its largest release of unauthorized game footage to date — and a new threat tied to a cryptocurrency.
What happened
On October 8, 2026, CyberLeek released roughly 25 minutes of GTA 6 footage, distributed as a ZIP file of approximately 370MB titled "Extended Leek." The release was reported by Insider Gaming, VICE, Dexerto, and Kotaku. Unlike the group's earlier releases — about 15 short clips posted between August 18 and 26 — the new footage is reported to include cutscenes and story spoilers.
The group had gone quiet on August 27, shortly after between $200,000 and $270,000 was withdrawn from its $CYBERLEEK memecoin, hours before Rockstar's "Extended Look" presentation aired. In early October, the group's website posted a poll whose voting closed on October 8, the day of the new release.
The New Threat
Over the weekend of October 10–11, the group published a new message claiming it holds a fully playable build of GTA 6 — "full story mode, played to the end, credits and all" — and will release it publicly if the $CYBERLEEK memecoin reaches a $30 million market cap.
The group's stated condition for holding back: Take-Two Interactive must release a physical disc version of GTA 6 and issue a public apology for its digital-only decision. The group has previously framed its leaks as a protest against the lack of a physical release.
These claims have not been independently verified. It is not confirmed that the group possesses a complete playable build.
Take-Two's response
Take-Two Interactive has described its efforts to identify those responsible as "rapidly evolving." The company has filed multiple subpoenas with Discord seeking information on specific servers and users. It previously filed, then withdrew, a subpoena request directed at YouTube related to three personas connected to a leaked video.
A Fans Dilemma: Watch or Wait?
The leaks have split the GTA community. Some players are seeking out the footage, unwilling to wait six more weeks to see the game in motion. Others are actively avoiding it, arguing that watching stolen, unfinished footage spoils a game years in the making and undermines the developers who built it. A third camp is less concerned with the footage itself than with CyberLeek's tactics — with some sympathizing with the demand for a physical release and others rejecting the group's memecoin scheme and threats outright. Where fans land often comes down to a simple question: is six weeks of patience worth more than a first look?
What's next
GTA 6 is set for release on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar has not announced a PC version. Reporting outlets covering the leaks have declined to host or link leaked material or to describe its contents in detail, in order to avoid spreading spoilers.
