Ubisoft has proposed closing Trials developer RedLynx in Finland, alongside 70 job cuts in Singapore and roughly 100 more across its German studios.

Ubisoft announced on October 14 that it has proposed closing RedLynx, its studio in Finland, a move that would affect up to 52 positions. The proposal is subject to Finland's local change negotiation process and is not yet final. Ubisoft also confirmed that 70 positions have been cut at Ubisoft Singapore, and, according to Game File, the company plans to reduce headcount by about 100 across its German studios in Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Mainz, through a voluntary departure program rather than direct layoffs. In total, roughly 220 jobs are affected.

"Today, we informed our teams of a proposal to close RedLynx in Finland, subject to the local change negotiation process, which would affect up to 52 positions," Ubisoft told GamesIndustry.biz. Of the Singapore cuts, the company said the studio "remains an important part of Ubisoft's global production organization," and that the reductions align it with upcoming production needs.

RedLynx, founded in 2000 and acquired by Ubisoft in 2011, is best known for the Trials series. In recent years it has mainly supported other Ubisoft studios; its last game of its own, the mobile title Gwen's Getaway, soft-launched in 2023 and was cancelled just over a year later. The studio also laid off dozens of workers in a restructuring a year ago.

Ubisoft Singapore opened in 2008 as a support studio, contributed naval combat to the Assassin's Creed series, and went on to develop Skull and Bones, which launched in early 2024 after repeated delays. The 70 positions cut represent about a fifth of the studio's roughly 350 employees.

Both studios sit in Ubisoft's Creative Network division, where they were placed in a company restructuring announced last year. The latest cuts continue a cost-reduction program that has run across Ubisoft's studio network for more than a year.
